It’s not every day students get glimpse at a professor’s non professional life. Looking at photographer Lynn Meschan’s work, it’s hard to believe she’s a psychology professor here at
Meschan’s collection, Reflections in Photography, is hanging from the walls of the Administration Building Gallery until Feb. 6.
Curator Julie Hughes held a reception last Friday to kick off the spring semester in the gallery. Meschan floated around the gallery answering questions and putting a face to the pictures.

The psychology professor turned photographer explained that photography comes from a different side of her: she takes photographs as a mental release but has no other psychological influence in her work.
“This is one of my stress management strategies,” Meschan said, saying that her psychology degree does influence her photos.
Linzi Gasper, 18, an undecided major, came into the art gallery looking for Professor Meschan’s sign-in sheet to receive credit for class. Despite her reasoning for visiting she quickly found her favorite photograph: Aegean Sea,
“The colors, it’s kind of strange, like someone’s looking out”, Gasper mused, “It’s unique, I can’t tell if it’s sunrise or sunset.”
Another student of Menschan’s, Jasmine Delarosa, 18, also an undecided major, liked Havasu Falls, Grand Canyon, claiming it looked familiar and was not sure if she had visited.
“You were born there,” Gasper teased her friend.
