The Campus Bistro is back!
For those unfamiliar with it, the Campus Bistro is the café trailer in front of Fountain Hall. According to Moorpark College Food Service Manager, Darren Wise, the trailer was closed due to some staffing issues.
“Now things are better and we offer different food. Quick grab n go stuff,” Wise said.
Along with the reopening, a new menu has come which serves students on the go. They now serve coffee, tea, soda, water, bagels, muffins, chips, sandwiches, fruit, candy and more.
Items from the cafeteria are also found in the Campus Bistro. This should make it convenient for students who don’t have much time and attend classes closer to the north side of campus.
“One of the other reasons the trailer was believed to have been closed were the lines or long wait for cooked or prepared food previously offered,” said Rosie Moreno, food service employee.
She adds that the prices are the same but they can expect a faster service.
“They can always count on a personalized service with me,” Moreno said.
Moreno feels that overall there is an improvement and students will be happier.
Mia Estrada, 21, Psychology Major, agrees that that she prefers going to the Snack Shack and hopes it does not close again.
“I don’t have to walk all the way back [to the campus cafeteria],” said Estrada. “Don’t close it!”
Campus Bistro hours are Monday through Thursday 8 p.m. to 2 p.m. Moreno and Wise encourage students to stop by the trailer and check it out.
