Conspiracy is a force that drives societies to survive. People know the truth, but instead of taking the unfortunate truth at face value, they look for little cracks in the story. Then, they tear the story wide open like a doomed seal that jumps unsuspectedly into a pod of orcas.
Conspiracies come in many ideas and sizes. For example, JFK’s assassination is more widespread than the conspiracy surrounding the attack on the Pentagon on September 11, 2001. More people “know” that the Apollo moon landing was filmed in a studio than know what the “New World Order” is.
The name may not be familiar but it is an age old theory that almost everyone is aware of. The concept behind New World Order (NWO) is that international leaders with pressure from certain groups are working for a one world government.
The movement is supposed to be caused by a super secret powerful group. NWO believers see everyday events as leading the world towards one world government. For example, in 2002, the FDA approved the manufacturing of a human implant “VeriChip Microchip.” According to Vericorp.com, the implant could be used to help find people in an emergency situation.
According to NWO thinking, this is proof that the world is heading towards a totalitarian world government, because this “chip” is the mark of the beast as described in the Bible in the book of Revelation.
Other conspiracies are better known. Anyone who has taken a US history class has seen the grainy video and we’ve all tried to count the shots. But who killed JR?
JFK’s assassination has several theories as to who was the actual assassin was. The official report by the Warren Commission states that JFK was shot by Lee Harvey Oswald. However, it is easy to believe that the task of assassinating the President of the United States would not be able to be carried out by just one man.
Some potential conspiracy candidates include the CIA, the KGB, the mafia, the FBI, and Fidel Castro, just to name a few. The mystery surrounding the President’s death makes it easy for conspiracy theorists to spread their theories because its almost too simple for Oswald to be sole killer. Who was behind JFK’s assassination, and was Oswald a set up? We may never know.
Conspiracies don’t have to be old, and it doesn’t take a long time for them to spread. On an early September morning in 2001, American Airlines flight 77 crashed into the pentagon as a part of the 9/11 attacks. Pictures shot from a security camera pointed at the crash site, show something crashing into a building.
However, pictures taken shortly after the crash show no obvious signs of a plane crash. Pictures don’t show things like, airplane tales, wings, fuselage, and other, plane-crash things.
Other conspiracies have survived because they have national importance. In the ’60s, the space race was huge because of the state of the cold war. In 1969, the United States landed on the moon. Its easy to see, however, that the on scene video may have a few problems. A flag that seems to be blowing in the wind, without an atmosphere for wind, “proves” that it was staged. With the scientific abilities in the late ’60’s, it isn’t really known if NASA had the technology to actually get to the moon, but movie magic could “take someone to the moon.”
The official opinion from the government, the astronauts, and all the others involved is that the landing happened, but after looking at the tape, people still draw their own conclusions.
But seriously, just like conspiracy theorists pick apart the common reality, normal people can pick apart conspiracy theories. NWO may fly with the religious fanatics, but the concept is ridiculous. NWO is an anti-semetic theory, with Jews being the “secret group.” Mel Gibson may say that the Jews control Hollywood, but NWO says that Jews control the world.
The assassination of the President of the United States is a horrible tragedy and JFK was loved by many people. No hard evidence has ever been found to suggest anything other than what the Warren Commission found is plausible. People see what they want to believe, and JFK killed was too much for some people.
The landing on the moon was not faked. The flag waving in the wind, was starched to look that way. All of the little insignificancies that the theorists point out like funny shaped rocks and whatnot, don’t really prove anything except for the moon looks funny, and the film used wasn’t up to today’s standards.
When you watch 1969 film on a 2007 apple imac, quality does not improve.
September 11th was a horrible tragedy and it is a disgrace to the families of everyone who died to try and say it wasn’t real. The pentagon had a very large hole in it, and a Boeing 757 does not just disappear with 64 people on board, never to be heard from again, without leaving a large hole somewhere. Something blew that hole there, but with the innovations in technology, the opposition to the common belief has a cunning argument, this one, you’ll have to make the call.
