Lock your doors, roll up your windows and keep your eyes peeled. A burglar has been on the prowl at Moorpark College.
Investigations are ongoing at this point with no suspects yet, but Lt. Steve Kegley has some ideas about who may be burglarizing the campus.
“A homeless person was told to leave Thursday morning after he was found sleeping on a couch in the employees lounge in administration.” Said Kegley.
This comes amidst a week that has presented a rash of unsolved burglaries to the usually relatively crime free Moorpark College Campus. The first was over Thanksgiving holiday. The theif brok into Admissions and Records and rummaged through six desks, taking only cash and candy.
Thursday it was discovered that someone with a key had entered the Physical Science building and took three keys to the Campus Center, assorted change and bills, headache medicine, and once again, candy. It is not clear whether these crimes are connected.
Students are advised to not leave valuables lying around, and any suspicious activity such as a light on when no one is around, is to be reported to the Campus Police Department which is located near the TR bungalows and can be contacted at (805) 378-1455.
