Major Awareness Week will take place the week of April 21. The week long event will offer speeches and panels on potential majors and careers for students.

Next week is Major Awareness Week at Moorpark College, which strives toprovide students with many opportunities to find and learn about the majors available on campus, as well as possible careers for the future.

The week-long event will include several smaller events across campus, with each speaker focusing on a specific major. The events include majors in nursing, English, microbiology, business, engineering, history, and many more. There will also be a “chose a major” workshop on Wednesday for students who aren’t sure what major they would like to pursue.

“This is an opportunity for students to figure out what their major is,” said Judi Gould, the Career and Transfer Center Coordinator. “I hope that students go not just to something they know they are interested in, but go to something they might be interested in.”

A Job and Career Expo will take place April 23 on Raider Walk from 9:30a.m. to 10:00a.m. More than 50 employers will be present, and many will be hiring on the spot, so it’s recommended that students bring their resumes. The Career and Transfer Center is also available to help students work on their resumes.

For more information and for a full schedule of events, they can be found online at moorparkcollege.edu/career.
