Career and Transfer Center to celebrate transferring students

The spring semester is almost over at Moorpark College, which means it’s just about time to say goodbye and good luck to all of the transferring students of 2014. The Career and Transfer Center will be put on a transfer social on May 7 from 11:00 A.M. to 1:00 P.M. on Raider Walk.

“It’s a chance to celebrate transfer on our campus,” says Judi Gould, the Career and Transfer Center Coordinator. “We are very proud of all of our students.”

The event was free of charge and open to all students, not just transferring ones. There were hot dogs and frozen yogurt for all students in attendance and a live performance by the jazz combo. The social is also a big opportunity for students to network with other students who may be transferring to the same school.
The transfer wall of fame will be moved from inside fountain hall out onto Raider Walk. If students wish to have their names and transfer successes posted on the wall they need only to fill out a small form either in the transfer center or online in the centers website. The form requires their name and the schools they’ve been accepted too.

“The faculty likes to see where our students are going,” says Gould. “And it’s a fun way for students who are going to transfer to where other students are going.”

Whether or not you’re transferring this year students are encouraged to stop by at the transfer social to meet new people and congratulate fellow students.
