I am Saffana Hijaz, The Student Voice’s Newsroom Coach. Last semester I was a writer for the News and Student Life sections, covering the Associated Students as my main beat. A current transferee to Cal State Northridge, I have made my way into the journalism program. While taking a few classes at CSUN, I am also taking a few here on campus at Moorpark College. Among these classes I have taken up an internship with The Student Voice to mentor writers with finding stories, editing, and guiding them to be the best journalists they can be. I am looking forward to working with the great group of writers we have this semester and hope to gain a lot of experience from my advisors, the editors, and the writers.
