Despite losing their last three games in a row, two of which were decided by three points or less, the Raiders seemed primed to break out and get a win.
Playing in Griffin Stadium against Pasadena the Raiders knew that they would need a complete team effort in order to get the job done and that’s exactly what happened.
“In all facets of the game we executed,” said wide-receiver Cody Tuttle. “We did our jobs and played together as a team.”
After a failed fourth down conversion by the Raiders, Pasadena got on the board by means of a 65-yard touchdown pass to give them a 7-0 lead over Moorpark. Over the next few series both teams traded turnovers on downs.

Coming out of halftime tied, the Raiders knew what they had to do in order to seal a win and that was continue to play aggressive defense. Moorpark added a field goal in the third quarter and lead 10-7 heading into the fourth and final quarter. With six minutes left to play in regulation, wide receiver Cody Tuttle caught a 7-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Zach LaBar to give the Raiders a 17-7 lead.
Pasadena added a field goal and a late touchdown to even the score at 17 and send the game into overtime. In the overtime period wide-receiver Nick Loftin ran the ball into the end-zone for a 15-yard score to seal the Moorpark victory.

Yet the offense for Moorpark wasn’t the only reason they won as the defense played a huge role in the victory and were acknowledged for it.
“Our defense played their hearts out,” said wide-receiver Cody Tuttle. “They did a great job.”
With the win Moorpark improves its record to 2-5 and will look to keep improving on not only this win but the season as a whole.
“Theres always room to improve and we’re going to go back on film Monday and find a lot of things that we could do better. That’s what being a good team is all about,” said wide-receiver Cody Tuttle. “All in all it was a great win and I’m proud to be part of this team.”
Moorpark, (2-5), will looked to make it two wins in a row on Saturday November 1 when they travel to play Cerritos College. Their next and final home game of the season will take place on Saturday November 8 when they take on College of the Canyons.
