This season was a rough season for the lady raiders, who struggled in the beginning of the season, but towards the end pulled it together.
The team had to overcome plenty of obstacles. Moorpark Women’s Soccer Coach Eric Privat had a six game suspension, as well as the team had many injuries which could not be prevented, as well Moorpark Coach Eric Privat had a six game suspension.
The first half of the season didn’t go as smoothly as planned and they ended the first half with five losses and five ties.
“In the beginning of the year we really struggled to come out and compete at the right level,” said Sophomore soccer player Kelly Matthews. “But after playing a few games we really picked it up and found our rhythm.”
In the second half of the season the players really seemed to click. They got rid of the bumps in the road and the second half of the season the team had six wins and three losses.
“Towards the beginning of the season we didn’t really connect,’ said Sophomore Alexandria Munoz. “But towards the end we became really close as a team.”
Though this season was a rough one for the lady raiders they have plenty to be proud of, including tying the first place Santa Barbra 1-1. They also tied division rivals Ventura College 1-1 for third place.
“I thought the season went pretty well,” said freshmen Angelique Cabral. “We had our bumps in the road, but we stuck together as a team all the way until the end of the season.”
Moorpark College Women’s Soccer team has accomplished plenty this season. With fourteen returning players, Moorpark College looks to take first place next season.
