From robotics, to building aquaponics, the Engineering Club at Moorpark College has a lot planned for this semester.
At Engineering Club, students can expect to work on competition style robots in preparation for the world-championship in Kentucky in April.
The club is also building aquaponic systems to sell this semester. Aquaponics is a self-sustaining system in which fish and plants feed off each other. Although the club plans on selling these systems, Secretary Dylan Slater said making money is not the goal.
“We are not so much looking for profit than just the experience,” said Slater.
The club also participates in outreach programs with High School and Middle Students. Last Friday, Feb. 6, the club gave a robotics presentation to High School Students that were touring at Moorpark College.
The Engineering club meets on Tuesdays from 12 to 1p.m. and Fridays from 10 a.m to 2 p.m in PS 203. Students who are interested should contact the President of the Club Michael Culver.
