On Wednesday it was a windy day at Moorpark College and the students were on campus when the fire drill went off.

Students were escorted out of the buildings they were present at, and stood outside of the Moorpark College wondering what was going on.

“The alarm scared the [life] out of me,” environmental science major Kyle Kodama said. “I was really confused, and wasn’t sure what was going on.”

Some students were not happy with the wind that was blustering through out campus. English major Brett Lorenz discussed his displeasure with the wind.

“The wind makes my head hurt,” said Lorenz. “It tosses it around.”

Other students didn’t mind the wind what so ever. Business law major Brenda Carrillo, said it was just annoying, but went on with her day.

“It’s kinda noisy,” said Carillo. “But it’s okay! No big deal.”

Students either walked around the campus, or stayed where they are at. Jessie Mansfield a student who was evacuated from his figure drawing class was just relaxing and enjoying the free time.

“It got me out of class,” said Mansfield. “I think everyone is happy to get out of class, and just enjoy nature.”

This was just a drill by the college, but if this was a real situation how would the students really react?

“If the situation were real I would just stay where I am at, and follow instructions,” said Mansfield. “Make sure that everybody is safe, you don’t want to make the situation worse by freaking out.”

Other students felt they handled the drill well. Kodama said he would be fine in the situation, and said the students handled it with class.

“No one was running around, or freaking out getting nervous it made me calm,” said Kodama.
