Another opportunity for new experiences and to make new friendships arose for students during the semester’s second Club Rush, which took place on Oct. 13 and 14.
Alanie Rossell, 18-years-old business major, shared her thoughts on Club Rush and her interests in the clubs she is considering joining.
“It felt like a small stampede, but it was quite interesting,” said Rossell. “I enjoy fitness and lifting, so a club that’s about that I would join and the Extreme Raider Challenge is something I’m interested in too.”
According to Richard Real, the coordinator for Club Rush and director of student organizations on campus, the previous Club Rush held on Sept. 9 and 10 had an estimated 200 students attend the event and he expects it to fill-up Raider Walk once again.
This month, about 20 clubs reached out to students to get them involved and be a part of a group atmosphere.
The Outdoors Club Treasurer Mona Elalami was one of the many participates in this week’s Club Rush in order to get new membership sign-ups and share the club’s message for students.
“We’re a group that allows people to communicate and socialize in a friendly environment while staying active,” said Elalami.
Phi Theta Kappa and the Honors Club were both sponsoring Making Strides Against Breast Cancer in support of breast cancer awareness. They gave out handmade bracelets while accepting donations.
