A global scholarship for high school and college students who can make apps is being offered through the Kay Family Foundation.
Two student app creators will each receive a $5,000 scholarship funded by the foundation and also win a trip to the Consumer Electronics Show 2016 in Las Vegas, travel and accommodations provided. There, they will have the opportunity to show-off their apps to a crowd of technology influencers.
According to the press release from the Third Annual Appreneur Scholarship Competition published on Sept. 24, the Kay Family Foundation loves helping out new inventors.
“Our foundation is committed to supporting aspiring entrepreneurs as they work to become tomorrow’s leaders of industry,” said Elim Kay, president of the Kay Family Foundation. “Our partnership with Living in Digital Times at CES enables us to shine the spotlight on the young minds shaping our digital future.”
Last year’s Appreneur Scholar winner was Brooke Martin for her app called iCPooch. She then went on to pitch her idea on the show “Shark Tank.”
