Hello, Moorpark College Student body!

I hope your semester is going well and you are learning a lot and making new and exciting connections on campus. I would like to write to you all to let you know what the Associated Students has been up to lately.

To start, the Associated Students are planning to implement new hydration stations in the most desired areas of our campus. We have created a proposal and presented it numerous times to the environmental committee, receiving lots of support for this project. We are hoping to get the exact locations and money approved for this as soon as possible.

.We are also going to be involved in the next Veteran’s Day event set to be held on November 11th, 2015 from 12:00-3:00 PM in front of the Administration building. If you didn’t already know, there will be speeches, one given by me, and a refreshment/food social following. We highly encourage you to come and join us to support our veterans!

Moreover, we are also currently working on getting scan tron/blue book machines back on campus so that if the book store is not open, students would be able to still purchase scan trons and blue books for their classes. It is still a work in progress. We will keep you all in the loop as we do further research and continue moving forward with the project.

The Associated Students is also actively looking for ways to support and advertise our athletic teams on campus. Every home game this semester, we will be giving away FREE gifts to students who attend and show their student ID, so if you don’t already have a student ID, go and get one at the Associated Students, and come and join us for upcoming games!

If you have any questions about when games will be held, please feel free to contact our Director of Public Relations, Chelsea Vanicek. Her email is chelsea_vanicek1@my.vcccd.edu. And of course, if you have any questions or concerns, you are always welcome to stop by my office or email me at [email protected]. My open office hour are Wednesday’s from 4:00-7:00 PM, and Thursday’s from 1:00-5:00 PM at the Campus Center.

Wishing you all the very best in these last couple weeks of the semester. Keep up the great work and remember… WE ARE THE RAIDERS!
