DNCE’s new album, SWAAY dropped last Friday.

Remember when music was released on Tuesday’s? Now it’s a thing of the past, with new albums dropping on Friday’s!

Music was originally released on Tuesday’s internationally, however Tuesday in other countries was in a different time zone leading to music being leaked early in the United States, according newmusicfridays.com. Now that the music release date has changed it has helped prevent some of these industry mishaps.

New releases had a greater chance of getting leaked the weekend before the initial release on the following Tuesday, according to National Public Radio.

Adrian Strain, head of communications for the International Federation of the Phonographic Industry told National Public Radio that music could get illegally downloaded before the release date and it harmed sales.

“New Music Fridays, should give less reason for those people who can’t get the new release legally to go to illegal sites,” stated Strain to an interview with NPR.

Since there’s huge change in releasing music on Friday’s. Weekly new hits are put on iTunes, Spotify, Amazon, and Google Play for listeners.

In the month of October, there has been several great albums, Extended Plays and singles debuted.

Last week, Joe Jonas’s new band, DNCE broke out their new EP, “SWAAY.” With four new songs, one of them being hit single, “Cake of the Ocean,” this EP is for anyone who loved the Jonas Brothers, and as well traditional pop/indie musicians.

After taking three years off, pop vocalist, Adele unveiled her new song “Hello” off of her album, “25.” Adele beat Taylor Swift’s “Bad Blood” in music video viewership, according to Entertainment Tonight. If you like these artists; Amy Winehouse, Lana Del Rey, Ellie Goulding and Lily Allen then, Adele is the girl for you.

Pop-rock band, Paradise Fears debuted their new single last week, “Back to Life.” The rock band hadn’t released any new music in months, they surprised fans with the up-beat tune. If you like these artists; We the Kings, Mariana’s Trench, The Summer Set, and The Maine, then listen to Paradise Fears.

Friday morning, Pop/R&B singer, Ariana Grande dropped her new single, “Focus,” off of her soon to be released album, “Moonlight.” “Focus” is bound to be a bigger hit then her previous singles, “Problem” and “Bang Bang.” This jam is recommended for pop/R&B lovers all around.

Los Angeles based alternative rock band, The Neighborhood released their second full-length album, “Wiped Out.” After dropping a few singles and their hit “R.I.P 2 My Youth,” “Wiped Out” made it iTunes top ten album chart on its release day. “Wiped Out” is recommended for listeners of The 1975, Walk the Moon, Twenty One Pilots, and Young the Giant.

For punk-rock lovers, a new band called Green Light Theory, debuted their new song, “Untied” on Groundsounds a few days ago. “Untied” is an upbeat tune about letting go of a past relationship. This song is recommended for listeners of “All Time Low,” “Five Seconds of Summer,” “State Champs” and “This Wild Life.”
