A brand new printing system officially arrived at Moorpark College at the beginning of this semester.

Students can rejoice and indulge in the new system which allows them to print and copy on the same machine, a function that wasn’t available in the old system. It will still cost 10 cents to print and copy, but for a limited time only it’s free of charge.

Students will find that the new machines are more user-friendly and easier to operate than the old system.

“They seem pretty cool,” said Niko Jacobellis, a 21-year-old communications major. “Especially since we can use debit cards to pay for printing now, I’d say it’s pretty worth it.”

John Dobbins, the learning resources supervisor, is optimistic about the new system.

“I do like the new system!” said Dobbins. “Students are going to find that it’s more convenient than the old system and it will save them a lot of time.”

The new printers aren’t owned by the district, but instead are under a contract to save the school quite a bit of money, said Dobbins.

The 10 brand new printers are scattered throughout the library on all three levels as well as a single machine stationed within Fountain Hall.

Free printing won’t last forever so get there while you can.
