In a defensive battle, the Lady Raiders came away with a big road victory.
This time, they knocked off conference foe Cuesta, 49-33.
Head coach Kenny Plumer relished the road win and what it did to player moral.
“This Cuesta trip is never an easy one to make,” said Plumer. “I felt we came together tonight and executed our game plan.”
The whole team piled up 34 rebounds and was sent to the free throw line 26 times. The team also attempted 44 shots in the game.
Moorpark also never gave up the lead during the game and led at the end of every quarter.
Plumer was very pleased with the team with its rebounding effort and defense throughout the game.
“I’m very proud of our girls,” said Plumer. “Our girls played good defense and rebounded the ball well.”
The Lady Raiders will return to home court this Saturday at 3 p.m. against rival Oxnard College.
