Imagine all your favorite sweets, treats and every possible delicious pastry you could ever envision all in one place for your enjoyment. Well, imagine no more, an upcoming local sweets convention has all your wildest dreams coming true.
The LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show is the biggest baking and pastry convention on the west coast, according to Nancy Tei, co-founder of the LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show.
“We love delivering an amazing, family-friendly event that gives people a chance to try hundreds of amazing sweets all in one place,” said Tei.
By attending this years’ second annual LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show, students will get the chance to meet thousands of Californians sharing their delicious brands with anyone who has a sweet tooth.
Siedra Akhtar, 20-year-old political science major at Moorpark College, loves the idea of having a such a sweet convention.
“Everyone has a sweet tooth, so it would be so much fun,” said Akhtar. “I love the idea of an event like this and would totally attend.”
The convention will also host many Food Network stars and celebrities, including Ron Ben-Israel, the world famous cake decorator and star of Food Network’s “Sweet Genius.”
“We’re also looking forward to filming for Food Network’s “Cake Masters,” which stars Duff Goldman, and watching Rosanna Pansino and Sarah Michelle Gellar’s panels,” said Tei.
The LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show is a great place to bring your family for a fun weekend adventure, or just to go with your friends to try out a bunch of new tasty desserts.
However, in order to make it such a delicious event, many hours are put into the setup, said Tei.
“Organizing the LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show is an enormous undertaking,” said Tei. “It involves thousands of hours of work all for one weekend of seeing, sampling, and creating.”
The convention is expected to have 10,000 people show up, according to Tei. So, be sure to grab your tickets as soon as possible.
“We are almost sold out!” said Tei. “We are looking forward to record-setting attendance.”
The LA Cookie Con and Sweets Show is Feb. 6-7 at the Los Angeles Convention Center. A VIP pass is $50, general admission is $17 and child admission is $10 for one pass. For more information and to buy your tickets, go to http://www.lacookiecon.com
