The Raider’s softball team ran away with two wins as they beat LA Harbor College in a double header on Feb. 20.

The wins placed them atop of the conference standings with an impressive 8-1 record.

The Lady Raiders came out strong as they beat LA Harbor 7-0 in their first game. They trailed 4-0 in the second game, but came back scoring nine unanswered runs to win 9-4..

Head Coach Dave Fox has high expectations for his team as they are a truly dedicated team that puts in a lot of hard work in practice and outside of practice.

“These were two games that we expected to win, but we had to work hard for them and that was really good,” said Fox

Playing not just one, but two games at noon was certainly not easy, but it was well worth it, said freshman Tara Bilchik.

“It was really tiring, but it was a really good feeling at the end when we won both [games],” said Bilchik.

The Lady Raiders found themselves in an unfamiliar situation when they were down in the second game against LA Harbor.

“We haven’t really came from behind a lot since we are usually up in the first few innings,” said freshman Caitlyn Vinyard. “We didn’t happen to do that today so it was kinda new for us but exciting to comeback from behind.”

The Lady Raiders will hit the road on Sunday Feb. 21, as they take on Bakersfield College at 3:30 p.m.
