After a dominant win last week, the Lady Raiders played their final game of the 2015-2016 basketball season with a loss of 52-48 in overtime against Cuesta on Saturday, Feb. 20.

The team finished the season with a 13-13 overall record and 6-6 conference record.

Not only was head coach Kenny Plummer proud by the efforts his team offered, but also thankful for giving him a lot of faith and hope to overcome this season.

“The girls overcame a lot of adversity,” said Plummer. “We over achieved more wins than losses.”

Captain Sydney Perry, also known as Squid, fought through many differences this season as well as this unexpected loss.

“We’ve gone through many coach and player changes,” said Perry.

But losing games as well as losing players due to injuries was no match for this fierce team.

From a successful season, there are many things that could be taken from into account.

“The team aspect is what kept me going,” said Perry. “They opened my eyes of what a family-oriented team is.”

Stay tuned for next year’s team for an upcoming preparation of a more “up-tempo team,” according to Plummer.
