Moorpark College’s co-ed track team began its conference play in the Western State Conference North at Ventura College on Friday Feb. 26.

The team continues to improve greatly as the season goes on. There were standout individuals who had great performances that afternoon.

Sprints and Hurdles Coach Jhad Jones was impressed by not only the stars on both the men’s and women’s side, but other athletes as well.

“It was refreshing to see other athletes come forward with good performances,” said Jones. “Zach Taylor came through with a great performance in the 100 meter dash by improving by 0.3 seconds in his race from two weeks ago.”

Jones also had praise for a first-year athlete competing in track competitively for the first time.

“Shane Dorriz had his best performance of the season in the long jump and still has room for improvement in that event,” said Jones. ”

The co-ed track team will have a week off before their next meet, which will be on Mar. 11.
