On Saturday, children and their parents learned through play at the Child Development Center’s (CDC) annual Discovery Day.

Johanna Pimentel, the CDC’s Laboratory Director, said that Discovery Day is about exploratory learning, learning through hands-on activities.

Discovery Day is also a fundraiser for the CDC. Local businesses, parents and each class at the CDC school donated baskets for a silent auction, a new attraction at this year’s Discovery Day.

“There’s going to be a nice chunk of money that’s going to benefit the children and our programs,” Pimentel said.
