About 1,500 students attended today’s Job and Career Expo, meeting with upward of 90 employers to learn about positions, hand in resumes and even apply on the spot.

The expo, which lasted from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., saw a variety of employers, from PizzaRev to Simi Valley Aquatics to the Marines, who informed and propositioned students.

“Everyone seemed well spoken and put together,” said Jonathan Alegria, owner and director of Simi Valley Aquatics. “They seemed to take it very seriously.”

Donny Munshower, Career Transfer Center coordinator, said the event was a success.

“It was extremely successful,” Munshower said. “Employer feedback has been positive. I would say two thumbs up. I would say a lot of the feedback is that we should do this twice a year. Many employers had interviews scheduled with our students over the next week or so.”

Matt Avila, a representative of PizzaRev, spoke to about 45 students and took resumes as well as applications.

“I think there was some opportunity for sure,” Avila said.

Jasmine Isabeles, 19, anthropology, attended the expo and spoke to representatives of Lazertag.

“It was pretty informational,” Isabeles said. “They told me about the different positions available and raises and stuff.”
