For one night only, a local stand-up comedy show entitled “#Comedy” will take place at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts.

The Hillcrest Center for the Arts is a performance center in the city of Thousand Oaks that will be hosting the comedic event this Saturday, Sept. 17. This event is aimed for an audience of 18 and older, giving students the opportunity to enjoy live Hollywood entertainment without the need of driving a far distance.

“#Comedy” will include comics Julia Jasunas, Nick Youssef, and Gary Cannon who have worked on “The Amber Rose Show,” “Conan,” and Hollywood’s famous “Laugh Factory.”

Victor Mosqueda, 18-year-old biotechnology major, has confidence that the show will be one to remember.

“I’m expecting the show to make me laugh until I start tearing up,” said Mosqueda.

“#Comedy” is a great local event for students who want to enjoy live comedy and entertainment, but don’t want to drive all the way to Los Angeles to see it, according to Mosqueda.

“It’s a fun thing to do on a Saturday night,” said Mosqueda. “It’s not everyday that a show with this much talent is shown locally.”

With such reputable talent participating, the show is anticipated to be a hit.

“I’m hoping to get my money’s worth in this show and have a good time,” said Mosqueda.

For students who are 21 and older, drinks will be served at the event with valid identification. The Hillcrest Center for The Arts would also like to notify in advance that some jokes might be offensive to some.

This event will be held Saturday, Sept. 17 at the Hillcrest Center for the Arts at 8 p.m. Doors will open at 7:30 p.m. and tickets can be bought for $12 online pre-sale or $15 at the door. Students may purchase their tickets for $9 with proof of a student identification card.
