New food trucks bring more variety to campus
September 30, 2016
New food trucks on campus are making access to food options for students on campus a lot easier and more varied.
Whether you’re in need of coffee or simply craving tacos, Matt’s Coffee Express and Maria’s Mexican Food are now on Moorpark College campus to provide students with their variety of food and drinks.
In the case of Matt’s Coffee Express, the small trailer offers a variety of blended or hot drinks to the students here on campus as alternative to those who cannot go off campus.
Maia Crawford, 18, undecided, has come back to the truck, time and time again, and has already developed her preferential drink of choice.
“I get the vanilla blended with almond milk and a banana blended in it,” said Crawford. “It’s pretty good. It’s my favorite.”
Matt’s Coffee Express also receives praise for their good customer service, as regular customer Raul Perez, 23, film major, attests.
“As far as their service, the gentleman right here is very, very kind,” said Perez. “He’s really easy to talk to and I have a pleasure coming here, basically just to talk to him.”
Maria’s Kitchen also has good customer service the lady that served his food was very kind, according to Daniel Juarez, 20, Business major.
“I’m actually a regular and I come here every single day after class,” said Juarez. “They’re pretty fast-paced and they’re really nice here, so they have good customer service.
Coming from a Mexican background, Juarez agrees that Maria’s food has a variety of Mexican cuisine and that their price for the food is pretty reasonable.
Matt’s Coffee Express is on campus Monday though Thursday outside the Student Center, while Maria’s Kitchen is typically available Tuesdays and Thursdays along Raider Walk.
