Transfer day is set to kick off here at Moorpark College on Thursday, August 30. Students will have the opportunity to meet with representatives from 51 universities spanning the CSU, UC and private school systems.

This is a once-a-year opportunity that gives students the chance to ask the most pertinent questions concerning their educational pathway. Among the most important information for transfer students is application deadlines, affordability and housing options.

“Transfer Day is important because it allows students who may not be able to go to the university campuses, meet the representatives right here on the Moorpark College campus,” said Giselle Ramirez, Career Transfer Center Coordinator. “It also gives our students an opportunity to meet with representatives from schools that they may not have thought of as a transfer option for them.”

Ramirez added that the transferring to a four-year university is a complicated process. Attending Transfer Day is a great way to make a connection with someone from the university and ask the important questions pertaining to the transfer process.

“Hearing things directly from the university rep can be reassuring and beneficial when going through the transfer process,” said Ramirez. “You can also get brochures about specific programs and admissions requirements directly from the university.”

This is a three-hour event starting at 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. located in the college quad area. There will be free food, live music and giveaways. All students are encouraged to take advantage of this great opportunity.
