America’s Teaching Zoo and Exotic Animal Training and Management program (EATM) at Moorpark College is hosting their seventh annual Rendezvous at the Zoo. This year’s honorees include 2018 Platinum Paw Recipients – founding family Lynne Doria, Jim Peddie, DVM, and Hubert Wells.
The event will take place on the sprawling terrace adjoining Moorpark’s Zoo on Oct. 11, 2018, from 5-9 p.m. The zoo open house will be held from 5 p.m. to 6:15 p.m. Advanced tickets are available, and recommended for a discounted price of $56 and must be purchased by Oct. 9, 2018. Tickets will also be available at the door on the day of the event for $70. No reservations are necessary and parking for this event is free.
Rendezvous at the Zoo is sponsored by Malibu Wine Safari and open to the public. Guests will enjoy hors d’oeuvres paired with wine and a silent auction. Activities include student presentations and up-close encounters with the zoo’s animals, including two new resident tigers, Neil and Karma. Visitors are encouraged to arrive early for the zoo’s open house, where they can stroll the grounds and see the animals firsthand.
All event proceeds go towards America’s Teaching Zoo’s Master Plan and zoo expansion, which includes larger and more naturalistic habitats for the big cats.
This is a Moorpark College Foundation Fundraiser and is open to guests 21 and up. For sponsorship, donation inquiries, and general information please contact Moorpark’s Zoo at (805) 378-1441. For tickets please visit http://zoo.moorparkcollege.edu/events/
