The Moorpark College Performing Arts Center is preparing for the second annual “Holiday Spectacular” show. This year’s Holiday Spectacular will run December 6-8 with evening performances, Friday and Saturday at 8 p.m. and a Sunday matinee at 2 p.m. on the main stage in the Performing Arts Center.
This year’s Holiday Spectacular will feature a variety show that will include holiday themed music, dance and comedy that embraces classic holiday traditions from around the world. The show will display an array of talent to include the dance, music and theatre arts departments.
John Loprieno, director of the show and Department Chair of Performing Arts at Moorpark College, expressed his thoughts of the upcoming show.
“Last year, more than 100 Moorpark College students in the performing arts contributed to this production and with community partners already lined up, this year’s offering promises to be even more spectacular than the last,” Loprieno stated. “I can’t tell you how many community members and even faculty and staff members of the college that repeatedly told us that they never knew there was such incredible and diverse talents here at Moorpark.”
Each year the Performing Arts Center will attempt to make the show even more grand than the last. An exciting new addition to this year’s show are the added performances by students from Lindero Middle School, Youth Musical Theatre and California State University Channel Islands.
“This production was so much fun last year,” said Loprieno. “To see all of our programs showcased on one stage was amazing for the families and friends that usually come to support their students in a single program.”
Tickets can be purchased at $16 for adults and $12 for students, seniors and children. For more information and ticket purchasing visit the Moorpark College Performing Arts Center Box Office website or call (805) 378-1485.
