Super Bowl LV took place in Tampa Bay, Florida, at the Raymond James Stadium with two strong teams, the Tampa Bay Buccaneers versus Kansas City Chiefs.
Tom Brady, “The Goat” on the Buccaneers, and Patrick Mahomes, “The Kid” on The Chiefs, went head to head to determine who is the best quarterback of this era. The Buccaneers ended up defeating the Chiefs 31-9 and Brady won his seventh super bowl ring.
“I am so proud of all these guys out here, everything we dealt with all year, we had a rough month in November, but BA (Bruce Arians) had all the confidence in us. The team had a lot of confidence,” Brady said in a postgame interview. “We came together at the right time. I think we knew this was gonna happen tonight didn’t we? We ended up playing our best every year.”
Mahomes could have taken his second ring in a row, but his team wasn’t fully there today with Eric Fisher, Willie Gay and Mitchell Schwartz not playing due to injuries.
The Buccaneers did bring their A-game, but there were also many penalties towards the Chiefs, which helped the Buccaneers push down the field to score uncomplicated touchdowns.

The Chiefs could have made a come back towards the rear end of the first half, with the score ending in 14-6 as the Buccaneers still prompted ahead. Due to their lack of progressing the ball and miscommunication, the Chiefs endured a total of 95 penalty yards in the first half. Tyreek Hill and Travis Kelce couldn’t do much due to the Buccaneers’ secondary all over them making it tough to run routes and get off the ball.
With all of the tension in the first half, ‘The Weeknd’ came through having a great performance making us all unable to ‘feel our faces’ with this tough game. After the ‘Blinding Lights’ performance, the Buccaneers deployed their run game, keeping the Chiefs quick-witted to tackle and keep them from scoring.
Brady threw some terrific throws to Rob Gronkowski while Antonio Brown made some bewitching plays. Leonard Fournette had a monstrous run game scoring a total of six glorious points in the second half after his 27-yard touchdown to put the Buccaneers up 28-9. Kicker, Ryan Succop, nailed all extra points including a 52-yard field goal. The player that stood out most was Devon White due to his allusiveness and agility put forth in the game and that shows how the Buccaneers got crowned World Champions.
When asked where this ranks in his long lists of achievements, Brady responded with, “I’m not putting any comparisons. Being down here experiencing it with this group of guys every year is amazing and this team is world champions forever. You can’t take it away from us. Thank you, guys. Thank you all.”
Mahomes had a total of 26 out of 49 completed passes, along with a total of 270 yards, with no touchdowns and two interceptions. Harrison Butker came together for the Chiefs with all the kicking he did to get his team all nine points. Brady finished with 21 out of 29 completed passes, 201 yards, with three touchdowns and no interceptions.
The Chiefs and Buccaneers played their hearts out as they do every game, unfortunately, only one team comes out a winner in the Super Bowl, and that was the Buccaneers with their first super bowl win in 18 years .
Brady finished his postgame interview with, “Yeah we’re coming back, you already know that.”
