Oxnard College hosts civil rights activist Angela Davis for a virtual conversation on social justice

Oxnard College's Associated Student Government hosted civil rights activist Angela Davis, PhD for a live-streamed conversation on Wednesday night about the abolition of prisons, the prison-industrial complex and the police, the importance of ethnic studies and the Black Lives Matter movement. Over 500 people logged on via Zoom and Youtube to watch and ask questions.

President Joe Biden signed into law his proposed $1.9 trillion COVID-19 stimulus bill on Thursday, March 11, the one-year anniversary since the World Health Organization declared COVID-19 a global pandemic. Stimulus checks are expected to be sent out to eligible Americans beginning this weekend.
