When driving a motor vehicle, using a Bluetooth can severely reduce the risk of an accident, but besides that why does anyone use one? Let’s face it; wearing a Bluetooth means business. It must mean you are important.
Business or personal, now everybody gets to know what you are talking about. You also get to use both hands to gesture and explain, making it easier to articulate what you are trying to get across. Never again will you be restricted by that grueling task of holding a cell hone to your ear. Talk about multi-tasking; now it is easy to talk on the phone, smoke a cigarette with one hand and drink a beer with another. When someone uses a Bluetooth nobody knows if they are talking to themselves or if they are on the phone.
But at least some people only use them only when they are talking. Others walk around with that baby at the ready, desperately waiting for that phone call. Have some pride and take it off if you are not using it. It is bad enough that you have one at all, because you are unable to push a shopping cart and speak at the same time without it.
According to a study by Human Factors and published in USA Today, driving while talking on a cell phone even with a Bluetooth decreases brake time by 9% and slows overall speed. Driving without a Bluetooth is even more dangerous and should be avoided at all costs. Doing anything with a Bluetooth besides driving should also be avoided at all costs. It is something that is hopefully a trend. It’s rude and annoying and no one should own one.
Speaker phones can be installed in cars and do the same thing. Bluetooth is technology at its worst, making even the simplest task of talking on the phone even easier.
