The Lady Raiders struggle at home to get anything going against the Vaqueros. The Vaqueros won with a final score of 8-2.

The Lady Raiders couldn’t mold any offense what so ever, and couldn’t gather any momentum during the game. Even though the team struggled on the offensive side of the ball. The team did well with the defensive side of the ball, and didn’t give up even being down for most of the game.

“Our team did really good with communication and defensively today,” said Third basmen Alexx Robles.

The team still was able to communicate with each other well, which is a positive. Another positive was how well the pitching was doing during the game. The pitching for the Lady Raiders did the job that Head Coach David Fox wanted them to do.

“Our biggest goal for today getting ahead against hitters with first pitch strikes, ” said Fox. “The pitchers did exactly what we wanted, and the defense did most of the routine plays.”

The team’s two runs came from hits by Melissa Zavala, and Hanah Roberg whose hits broughtteammates in for the runs. The two ladies had one RBI between them. Nicole DiBeneGorger, and Taylor Viveiros scored the runs in this game.

“Our biggest problem was the hitting, we didn’t make the right adjustments in the batter box,” said Fox.

The team now is 2-6 in WSC play. The Lady Raiders will be traveling to Ventura College to play in the Ventura Spring Games. They will be playing three games over the weekend. Two on Saturday, and one on Sunday.
