The Associated Students election will be held Tuesday and Wednesday, with both future and past representatives selected to run for various positions. Now, the only thing left to do is vote.

Associated Students election polls open on Tuesday, April 22 at 8:30 a.m. until Wednesday at 8 p.m., leaving the choice of the new school board up to the student body.

Many may have noticed campaigning posters up and down Raider walk, which were plastered with runner’s faces and positions. With almost all positions already taken up, the candidates are running hard.

Running for President are Farshid Orak, William Sloane, and Jeffrey Croft.

A one-woman show, Mayra Contreras is running for the position of Vice President.

Keeping the “all for one and one for all” theme alive, Jesse Alcala is running for Director of Finance for a repeat year on the Associated Students Board; the same goes for current board member Melvin Kim, who is aiming for Director of Academic Affairs.

Two candidates aim for the position of Director of Constitution and Standing Rules, with Ashley Brianna Rasmussen and Wendy Bonilla both running.

However, the running is much tighter for Director of Public Relations, as Cheyenne McAlister and Belen Contreras compete against Ignatius Petilla, who is familiarized with the AS board’s duties since he is currently on the board as the Director of External Affairs.

Last but not least is runner Leah Alicata for Director of Student Services.

The vacant positions consist of Director of Campus Events and Director of Student Organizations, both equally important positions as they handle school clubs and events held on campus.

The winner will be announced on the Associated Students Facebook Page this coming Wednesday night, as soon as all ballots are counted. As for those vacant positions, it will be the job of the future Vice President to appoint the vacant positions to those with the will and time to attend to all duties of student organizations and campus events.
