Student rights and grievances, discipline procedures, and standards of conduct will be discussed at the monthly Board of Trustees meeting on Tuesday, Oct. 14.

During the meeting the three will be discussed. These policies relate to MC students.

“This is a good example of why students would want to become informed of business that is being addressed by the Board of Trustee,” said Perez.

The most important change to the Grievance Policy is that “day” in the old policy were calendar, meaning they included holidays, vacations, and weekends, and are now being changed to academic days, meaning they will no longer count holidays, vacations, and weekends, according to Dean of Student Learning and College Grievance Officer Patricia Ewins

According to the VCCCD Administrative Procedure Manual, the student discipline procedure purpose is to provide a prompt and equitable to address violation of the Student Code of Conduct and this will allow students an appropriate due process.

The standards of conduct will ensure a safe, respectful, and productive learning environment for VCCCD student, staff, faculty, and administrator, according to the VCCCD Administrative Procedure Manual.

The Broad of Trustees meeting will be held at 255 West Stanley Avenue, Suite 150 in Ventura at 6:30 p.m.
