Students who want to make connections and get involved in on-campus activities can come to the 22nd bi-annual Club Rush taking place on Sept. 9 and 10 on Raider Walk.
Richard Real, Director of Student Organizations, encourages students to go out of their way to attend the event.
“The purpose of Club Rush is to give all of the student organizations a chance to be out on the campus all at once and to appeal to the largest rush of students that they can,” said Real.
Sharon Miller, Associated Students advisor, explained what students can expect at club rush.
“They’ll all be behind tables just like you see in the movies,” said Miller. “Like how in that Pitch Perfect they had a great scene about the clubs being out there in the quad during orientation week, it’s the same thing.”
Several of the clubs on campus will have booths at the event, including; Phi Theta Kappa, The Engineering Club, Business Students Association, Anthropology Association, Armenian Club, Foster Youth Connections Club, and the Honors Club.
Students who attend Club Rush can sign up for student organizations and find out more about clubs they may be interested in. They can also find out the times and locations of the club meetings.
Greta Vizgirda, an 18-year-old Biology major, shared why she thinks Club Rush benefits Moorpark College students.
“It’s a good idea to go to Club Rush because you can meet new people and you can find some interesting activities to do,” said Vizgirda.
Club Rush will be held on Raider walk Sept. 9 and 10 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. and Oct. 13 and 14 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
