Be proactive instead of reactive, avoid any possibility of catching the annual flu virus by visiting the Student Health Center for your vaccination
Flu season is here and the Moorpark College Health Center department is now offering students the flu vaccine at the reasonable price of just 20 dollars.
Student health adviser, Sharon Manakas, emphasizes the importance of good hygiene in this contagious season.
“Using good hygiene, like washing your hands and not coughing or sneezing into your sleeve versus just letting it go out, can help contain some of the viruses that are out there.”
Generally Flu season starts in October of each year as winter closes in on us, slowly increasing the number of people infected each month peaking in January and February.
The flu vaccine may take up to two weeks for your body to build up the antibodies to fight any virus introduced into your immune system, so getting the vaccination as soon as possible is vital.
Visit or contact the Student Health Center located in the Administration building, room 111 at (805) 378-1413 for more information or to set up an appointment.
