Registration for current Moor- park College students planning to take spring classes begins Nov. 7, with registration appointment dates staggered throughout the month.
That could leave students who were assigned dates late in the month worried about not getting the classes they need.
Moorpark College Counseling Department Chair Traci Allen wants students with assigned registration appointments on or after Nov. 21 to know that they may be able to get their dates moved up.
“But they have to do an orienta- tion and [English and math] assessments and an abbreviated education plan through Degreeworks on their student portal,” she said.
Students who complete missing items automatically get their registra- tion date moved up.
Students can register beginning at 5 a.m. on the date they were assigned.
Registration dates are assigned to students based in part on their units completed and their academic standing. Students with fewer than 90 units have higher registration priority than students with more than 90 units.
Special populations of students, including veterans, foster youth, low- income students and students with disabilities are also granted earlier pri- ority registration dates.
Students unaware of their assigned dates can check the VCCCD portal.
Regardless of your registration date, Allen advises that students check the online schedule now and register at their earliest opportunity.
“Check your date and portal,” she said. “Start planning now and then register on your first day.”
