This Halloween, America’s Teaching Zoo will host their annual Boo at the Zoo event, where guests are invited to wear costumes and have their faces painted while watching animal shows and a parade.
The zoo will be decorated for the spooky event featuring Halloween themed shows, according to Zoo Operations Staff and Instructional Lab Technician Mara Rodriguez.
“We really go all out and decorate the zoo and theme the shows and we allow guest to come in costumes to celebrate the Halloween season,” Rodriguez said.
There will be trick-or-treating and a costume contest for the kids featuring a parade of the participants marching through the zoo at 3 p.m .
“It’s a fun thing that we do for the community,” Rodriguez added. “It’s for the people who visit all the time to see something different and have fun in a new way.”
The event will be held Oct. 29 and 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The event is free for students, $8 for adults and $6 for children that are 3 to 12 years old.
