This week, the Associated Students of Moorpark College will host the spring semester Club Rush on Feb. 5 at 5 p.m. and Feb. 6 at 10 a.m. via Zoom conference. The Zoom ID is 998 8966 5163.
There will be a total of 21 clubs attending. All 21 clubs will be attending on Friday, and 19 will attend on Saturday. There is no limit on how many students can attend.
The Zoom conference will be open to all Moorpark College students who are interested in learning more about some of the clubs and what they have to offer.
A couple of the clubs attending include Delta Alpha Pi Honors Society, InterVarsity Christian Fellowship and Enthusiastic Programmers Club.
A schedule for both days of the event and all of the clubs that are participating.
The vice president of the Associated Students of Moorpark College Gasia Benlian relays. “Club Rush will be different this year since it is fully virtual. Students and club representatives will have the opportunity to interact in an online environment instead of in person.” According to Benlian, “Club Rush will be similar to previous years since students will have the opportunity to explore clubs freely. They are given the option to check out whichever club seems intriguing to them.”
Each club is assigned a specific time to present to the students about their club and will also have their own breakout rooms that students can enter to learn more about their favorite clubs. Having the main room and breakout rooms during Club Rush will provide clubs the opportunity to present themselves to all the students who are attending the event.
This year is the first year where spring semester Club Rush will not take place on campus. The setup of the event is drastically different, but the ASMC has worked to provide club leaders and students with all of the resources needed to stay connected and stay involved in campus life.
