Moorpark Raiders excel at the Track and Field Beach Opener

It was a beautiful day at Cal State Long Beach College where Moorpark along with other fifteen schools competed at the track beach opener. This invitational was a great start to the season, allowing each team to show off their hard work. As it was an invitational rather than a placed meet, there were no specific winners. That being said, multiple PR's were set by the Raiders, setting a great tone to the season.

Opinion: Performance-Enhancing Drugs leaves Bonds and Clemens out of the Hall of Fame

The Baseball Hall of Fame vote has once again come in 2022. In his first year of eligibility, David Ortiz was the only player selected with a voting percentage of 77.9%. In their final year of eligibility, Barry Bonds and Roger Clemens did not receive the required 75% votes needed to be elected to the Hall.

Ventura Pirates slaughter Moorpark Raiders in the 53rd annual Citrus Cup

The Ventura Pirates blew out the Moorpark Raiders at Griffin Stadium in the first football game of both their seasons, the 53rd annual Citrus Cup. The Pirates have dominated the rival game for the past 13 years, but this Sept. 4 win was paramount for Ventura College, as Ventura Head Coach Steve Mooshagian reached his 100th career win.

Moorpark Men’s Soccer strikes early against Palomar

Moorpark Men’s Soccer won their first game of the season against the Palomar Comets 1-0 in a match that saw the Raiders’ offense flourish.The Raiders’ came out of the gates aggressively and took the lead early when first-year midfielder Marcel Kamberian scored his first collegiate goal of his career in the 21st minute.

Raiders’ football looks to kickoff season strong against district rival

The Raiders are planning to come back big with their first game being a home game against Ventura College. The two schools have been rivals from the start due to them being sister schools in the Ventura County Community College District. This sibling rivalry game has been given a special title and even has its own award to the winner, The Citrus Cup.

On Friday, the Raiders hosted Imperial Valley for the first game of the 2021 season. Playing the first game since 2019 after the cancellation of their last season.The Raiders left no time to reminisce on previous seasons as they burst into the game looking to reclaim their home field, well in theory.

Moorpark Softball splits doubleheader against Ventura College with walk-off home run

In a doubleheader on Saturday, Moorpark College Raiders Softball faced off against a cross-district rival, the Ventura College Pirates. The first match ended in a narrow 13-14 disappointment for the Raiders when they failed to secure the last runs needed to take the game into extra innings or seize the victory.
